Description: Bathymetry vector contour dataset. Compilation of data digitised from published coastal charts, digital soundings archive, navy collector sheets and digital multibeam datasourced from surveys by NIWA, LINZ, as well as international surveys by vessels from United States of America, France, Germany, Australia, and Japan.All data used is held at NIWA. Contour interval 50m in depths greater than 200m and 10m in depths less than 200m (where available)Simplified by MPI to 5m in order to improve drawing and analysis performance. Minor inaccuracies will have been introduced due to this additional processing. Simplification was performed using the Simplify Line tool in ArcMap [Point Remove, 5m, don't resolve topological errors]
