Description: The fishing industry have secured agreement from commercial operators and ACE holders to make the following voluntary commitments until December 2022 or such earlier time as the matter is resolved:
Commercial rock lobster fishing will not occur in Maunganui Bay-Oke Bay Rāhui Tapu or Mimiwhangata Rāhui Tapu (plus buffers).
Commercial trawling and purse seining will not occur in the Cape Brett closure, in the area covered by the bright blue diagonal lines and in the Mimiwhangata Rāhui Tapu (plus buffers).
Commercial longlining will not occur in the Cape Brett closure and in the Mimiwhangata Rāhui Tapu (plus buffers).
